John Vitolo joins us as our new Membership Investment Representative, responsible for bringing in new Chamber members and connecting members with advertising opportunities. John’s career began in New York’s magazine industry, marketing publications such as Good Housekeeping, Bon Appétit, and Condé Nast Traveler; he also spent time in Boston, MA with Yankee Magazine.

In 2007, John made his way to Sarasota with Miles Partnership, representing advertising programs for travel destinations such as Visit Florida, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana. Both John and his wife are graduates of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The Vitolo’s have three children; 26, 21, and 11 and they reside in Sarasota.

Welcome Megan Neal & Darlene Martin to The Chamber Team!

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members to The Chamber Team! 

Megan Neal croppedMegan Neal joins us as our new Membership & Events Coordinator. Megan will assist the Membership Team as the go-to person for your event and member related questions. She is the friendly face you will see at registration and at our upcoming networking events. Raised in Sarasota, she spent most of her days growing up on our gorgeous Gulf beaches and is a graduate of the University of South Florida. Outside of her professional pursuits, she spends her time writing, enjoying time with her wonderful husband, traveling to her favorite Disney parks, and being a proud aunt to 17 beautiful nieces and nephews.

“As a true Sarasotan, it’s rewarding to be at the forefront of the growth and development that is flourishing throughout our amazing community. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve an organization that truly looks towards bringing together a greater good within our city and am excited to dive into my role here at the Chamber!”

Darlene is a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Georgia with an associate’s degree in Business Administration and comes to us with over two decades of sales and business-to-business experience working to increase value to customers. She resides in the Sarasota/Bradenton area and enjoys the beaches, water and practicing hot yoga for the past 5 years.

As a benefit to our members, this tool provides easy distribution of press releases to current media contacts in the greater Sarasota area. Our press release tool is a great stepping stone for you to make connections with our local media. Plus, non-date specific press releases submitted are considered for future Chamber communications. Before starting please check our best practices.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Login at SarasotaChamber.com with your member credentials.
  2. Click Press Release Tool on the right-hand side of your screen under Quick Links.
  3. Fill out the form and submit!

Other Tips

Tracking Your Press Release

The simplest way to track your coverage is to use Google Alerts. To set up a Google alert, visit www.google.com/alerts and create an alert for each keyword you are interested in receiving a notification about. If you are entering phrases with multiple words, be sure to place quotation marks at the beginning and ending of the phrase. This will ensure that you receive notifications when something is published online with the entire phrase, rather than every individual word within the phrase.
