Give us a brief history of your business/organization.
POP Yachts was started in 2009 in an effort to provide traditional local brokerage services while also taking advantage of internet marketing, using proprietary software to give itself an advantage of traditional brokers. POP Yachts became the largest boat and yacht broker in America in 2013 and now brokers more than 1,500 boats/year.
What are your business/organization’s core values, goals, and overall mission?
Our primary goal is to build a software system and set of processes that provide sellers with the absolute best marketing program available and buyers and sellers with the simplest and safest transaction possible.
How long have you been in business in the Greater Sarasota Community?
POP was started in 2009 in Sarasota and has been here for 7 years.
In a nutshell, what does your business/organization provide its customers/clients?
As a broker, we provide marketing and sales services for our sellers. Much like a real estate broker, our job is to marry up buyers with sellers and to ensure a safe, fast and satisfactory transaction.

What makes your business/organization unique?
Although we provide all the traditional services of a local brokerage, POP permits our sellers to also sell their boat on their own without paying us a commission. Instead of choosing FSBO or Broker, our sellers get both.
What benefit(s) attracted you to the The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce?
Our founder, Scott McNally, is a Sarasota local.
Is your company/organization involved in any community/civic activities?
One of our owners, Nick Owens, is very active in the community, participating on various boards and volunteer efforts.
Where do you see your organization in five years?
Over the next 5 years, we are concentrating on our new sister company, POP RVs. That company is now six months old and really starting to get its legs. Five years from now, we expect to be one of the top 10 largest sellers of RVs in America.
What does your business/organization do to keep office culture fun and exciting?
Each week (on Tuesday), one of the owners holds a 90-minute webinar for all employees. New business development is discussed, software changes, new marketing, positions available. For enjoyment and to encourage participation, employee-provided photos are displayed in the presentation. There is almost a real-time survey conducted where for example the employees will choose the color and style of a new shirt and there is always trivia of some kind with points in the company store awarded for correct answers.
